For over twenty-five years, Marcie Cohen Ferris has studied and written about the American experience through the lens of food, and for the last sixteen years, she has lived and eaten in North Carolina, becoming an important member of the state’s engaged food community. As the editor for Edible North Carolina, she brings expertise in regional food studies, material culture, and southern studies. Ferris is a former president of the board of directors of the Southern Foodways Alliance. In the fall of 2018, Ferris was awarded the Southern Foodways Alliance’s Craig Claiborne Lifetime Achievement Award. See more of her work here.
